I find working with the Chakras a fantastic way to help strengthen my relationship with my Tarot cards.
Each Chakra has a different location, color association, and mental, emotional, and spiritual function. Here are my notes.
Associated Color: dark red
Location: base of the spine, legs
Charka Crystal: Garnet, Black Tourmaline, Smoky Quartz.
The Root chakra is the energetic command center that forms most of your basic instincts. In a primal sense, it can correspond to food, water and Shelter. A reading issue with one’s root chakra can be related to concerns regarding security, money, and a sense of feeling the same in the World.
Abuse, trauma, and financial insecurity will all threaten the stability of this Chakra.
The Tarot Cards: the emperor, the hanged man, death.
Associated Color: orange
Location: pelvis. Sexual organs.
Chakra Crystal: Carnelian, Moqui marbles, Shiva Lingam.
The Sacral Chakra is responsible for your sexuality, sensuality, pleasure, enjoyment, and passion. That feeling you have of being in the zone when you are doing something you love is connected to the Sacral Chakra. As well as feeling comfortable with yourself. When you have a disconnect from your body, emotions, or sexuality, it will result in blockages in this area.
The tarot cards: Strength, The Devil, The Moon
Associated color: yellow
Location: upper abdomen
Charka Crystals: Citrine, Pyrite, Golden Healer.
Your solar plexus chakra is connected to your personal feelings of autonomy, control, and confidence level. It’s the power center of your ego.
People who have a complicit Solar Plexus will be well adjusted, and they will set healthy boundaries. They are confident people without being pretentious.
As people with an imbalance, we will suffer from insecurity, be prone to being aggressive, and be indecisive.
A person’s ego strength and ability to be assertive are all connected to the Solar Plexus.
The Tarot Cards: The Fool, The Chariot, The Sun
Associated color: Green
Location: Heart Center
Chakra Crystals: Rose quartz, Malachite, Amazonite.
Your Heart Chakra is the kindest, gentlest, and to me, the sweetest energy of your body. Your desires for love, connection, community, passion for joy, peace are all connected to your Heart Chakra.
It also houses your vulnerability. Unfortunately, the Heart Charka is rarely found unharmed in some way, just by the very nature of life in general.
If one has an intact Heart Chakra, it will often equate vulnerability with strength rather than weakness and open up to others and embrace its needs.
The Heart Chakra is linked to psychic ability – clairsentience.
The Tarot Cards: The Empress, The Star, The World
Associated Color: Blue
Charka Crystals: Kyanite, Larimar, Blue Lace Agate.
The Throat Chakra Manages your voice in all of its manifestations. Your desire to be heard, the clarity of your speech. Your other Charkas are expressed through your Throat Chakra.
This will cause any blocks to this area to be especially volatile.
An imbalance in one’s Throat Charka will manifest itself as an explosion because you have kept things bottled upper. One might feel constricted as a result of self-censorship.
A person with a balanced Throat Chakra will be able to articulate their thoughts and beliefs effectively.
The Throat Charka is linked to the psychic ability – Clairaudience.
The Tarot Cards: The Magician, The Hierophant, The Lovers.
Associated Color: Purple
Location: in the middle between the eyebrows.
Charka Crystals: Lapis, Amethyst, Labradorite.
This is the Charka people ask me about the most. Your Third Eye Chakra is known for being the center of your psychic abilities and intuition.
If a person’s Third Eye is open, this will allow perception beyond ordinary sight. Impressions, insights, and one’s ability to visualize from here. It will enable clear thinking. But if you have an imbalance with this Chakra, this will cause you to be confused, worry, and sometimes paranoia might set in.
The Third Eye Chakra is likened to the psychic ability – Clairvoyance.
The Tarot Cards: The High Priestess, The Hermit, Justice.
Associated Color: White
Location: At the top of our head and a few inches directly above it Charka Crystals: Clear quartz, Selenite
Unlike the other six chakras, the Crown Chakra itself does not connect to any organs or body functions. Instead, the Crown Chakra allows you to feel a sense of wonder about all that is around you.
It is where you are connected to spirit the most. It’s at these moments that you find yourself feeling humbled by the wonder of the universe. It’s that feeling you get knowing that you are not alone, that there is, in fact, something bigger than yourself out there.
A person with a blocked Crown Chakra will feel loneliness, victimization, and often alienation.
The Crown Chakra is linked to the psychic ability – Clairvoyance.
The Tarot Cards: Temperance, The Tower, Judgment.
